How to install the guide ring on the piston?

Also, are there any openings in your piston rings? If the material of your guide ring is PTFE and the difference is slight, hot fitting is usually sufficient. If the difference is significant, not only hot fitting is required, but also the use of special fixtures is necessary; otherwise, installation is not possible. Please share your detailed situation so that other sailors can help you.

Our factory has two types of compressors, and the support ring of one type of compressor does not require heating. The other one requires heating.

We have an H-type compressor from Hangyang here; the guide ring is a few millimeters off from the outer diameter of the piston, and we installed it by hot mounting. We use a special tool, which is a cone-shaped piece that is narrower at the top and wider at the bottom; it has a step on its lower end that fits perfectly into the gap at the top of the piston. Then, fit the piston ring over the surface of a special conical tool (narrow at the top and wider at the bottom, with the largest diameter at the bottom matching the outer diameter of the piston), and place them together in an oven to be heated to the specified temperature. Once that temperature is reached, take them out and place the cone on the fitting shoulder of the piston. A specialized tool can be used to press the guide ring downward as a whole; the guide ring, once heated, has a very large degree of expansion.
