What kind of lining structure is suitable for the manhole DN800 installed on the acid separation unit of the dry absorption triple tower, and for the manhole DN1200 at the bottom of the tower? Which manhole is more prone to corrosion? Additionally, what lining structure should be used for the cable connection DN150 used for the anodic protection of the acid separation unit?
For the linings of the manholes at the top of dry scrubbers (where sealing against acid is not a concern), stainless steel is now more commonly used, while cast iron sleeves are still used for the manholes at the bottom. The manholes in dryers are relatively prone to corrosion; the anode protection cable connectors can be designed as F4 sleeves, functioning like a lining made of a straight pipe with flanges, with flanges at both ends.
Are you saying the bottom manhole is lined with cast iron pipe?

Our factory plans to build a plant capable of producing 200,000 tons per year of acid from pyrite. The branch factory generates waste ferrous hydroxide in an amount of about 50,000 tons per year; this waste contains approximately 50% ferrous hydroxide, 20% sulfuric acid, and 20% water. We intend to use this ferrous hydroxide in the combustion process in order to utilize the sulfur contained within it. If there is not enough heat generated, we plan to supplement it with some sulfur. Do you have any experience in this area? What issues need to be taken into consideration regarding the pre-treatment of the ore, mixture preparation, waste treatment, and purification processes when using this ferrous hydroxide in combustion? If a layer of asphalt 20 mm thick is applied to the shell, can it serve the purposes of: 1) providing room for expansion, and 2) acting as an insulating layer, without the need for asbestos gaskets?
Like graphite, asphalt is not resistant to the oxidative corrosion caused by strong acids! Moreover, the working environment for asphalt work is also poor.
