For large diameters, welding is used; it’s DN600 and above. There aren’t seamless molds that large.....................................

GB8163 is manufactured using steel grades such as 10.20, Q295, Q345, Q390, Q420, and Q460; GB/T3087-2008 uses grades 10 and 20; while GB/T 3091-2008 employs grades such as Q195, Q215A, Q215B, Q235A, Q235B, Q295A, Q295B, Q345A, and Q345B. Steel grade 20 belongs to high-quality carbon steel, whereas welding steel pipes are made from materials like Q235A and Q235B, which are ordinary carbon steels. The latter can only be used for low-pressure pipes with a pressure of <1.6 MPa. GB8163 can be used for medium-pressure pipes other than GC1; therefore, steel grade 20 is not utilized in the manufacture of welding steel pipes, which represents a waste of high-quality material.
