In continuous chemical production, the calibration of safety valves often expires after a long time, which poses safety risks to the stable operation of the system. I wonder if there are any good methods employed by various companies to address this issue?
There’s no good solution other than having the safety valve inspected when its deadline arrives.

The installation of safety valves usually involves root valves, and backup safety valves are provided for some critical safety valves; these are replaced in a timely manner when their expiration date arrives, and the newly installed valves are then tested. This approach helps to prevent any threats to production that could arise from expired safety valves.
It is verified once during the annual overhaul. It does not affect production and ensures safety.
For the safety valves of moving equipment, reverse testing is carried out once they reach their expiration date; for stationary equipment and pipelines, shutdown testing is performed. These tasks are usually done during major overhauls, and doing them once a year does not cause any delays. Sometimes, it’s hard to avoid exceeding the specified time limits
