Regarding how to determine the distillation conditions for a distillation column, such as the selection of temperature and pressure – with the column top pressure usually being the value that is determined – should the design focus on the column top pressure or the column bottom pressure? And then, through calculations, is it checked whether other conditions are also met? I am also looking for an authoritative book on distillation column design, covering everything from the selection of distillation conditions to the design of the column itself, including all the detailed aspects of its design. It’s best to have everything, similar to all the data provided by the design institute
The conditions of the tower are determined based on the separation requirements; generally, once the top pressure of the tower is set, the bottom pressure is obtained by adding the pressure drop across the tower.
