According to public reports, CNPC plans to build Line 4 of the Shaanxi-Beijing pipeline network during the 12th Five-Year Plan period. This fourth line serves primarily for peak load management; Lines 1–3 can be referred to as the southern lines, while Line 4 is the northern line, passing through places such as Ordos, Hohhot, Ulanqab, and Zhangjiakou before reaching Beijing.
