I am about to graduate and face the job market; I have been offered positions by both a petrochemical plant and a pharmaceutical factory. I don’t know which one to choose. . I hope the seniors here can give me some advice. . I am extremely grateful. . . I do QC testing in a pharmaceutical factory. The pharmaceutical factory is described as follows: The company mainly deals in active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, with its product portfolio centered around cephalosporin antibiotics and their intermediates, hypnotic and sedative drugs and their intermediates, anti-allergic drugs and their intermediates, as well as antifungal drugs and their intermediates. . . . . . The advantage of a pharmaceutical factory is that there are no shift changes. Perform QC inspection. It’s daytime work. What I dislike is that the monthly salary is low, only around 2000, and I’m also worried that the raw materials used in pharmaceuticals might be quite harmful to the health. . . Ningbo Haiyue New Materials Co., Ltd. is a joint venture company that specializes in the advanced processing of propane and mixed C4 compounds. Its registered capital is 1.5 billion yuan, and it is controlled by Zhejiang Haiyue Co., Ltd. The company primarily uses propane and mixed C4 hydrocarbons as raw materials, and by adopting advanced technologies from home and abroad, it processes these raw materials; its main products include propylene, methylethyl ketone, isooctane, etc. The main units of the company’s first-phase project include: a gas separation unit (capable of processing 1 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas per year) ; Propane dehydrogenation unit (600,000 tons/year) ; Same facility for both A and B (40,000 tons/year) ; Isooctane plant (600,000 tons/year, including waste acid regeneration) ; Acrylonitrile plant (260,000 tons/year) ; MMA plant (90,000 tons/year) ; Hydrogen purification unit (30,000 Nm3/h of hydrogen) as well as utility and auxiliary production facilities, etc. All units employ the most advanced process technologies available domestically and internationally, offering advantages such as low energy consumption, high environmental compatibility, high efficiency, high stability, and high quality. The propane dehydrogenation unit and the isooctane production unit both utilize patented technologies from the American company Rumus. This petrochemical plant is a new company. . . I’m worried that working at this chemical plant might be very harmful to my health, and I’m also concerned that the new company might not be well-established, which could increase the risk of accidents. . Because if I go, I’ll definitely be doing manual labor at the grassroots level. . . I’m always worried that it might explode or something like that. . . In the first year at this petrochemical plant, the annual salary is roughly 30,000–40,000. Around 50,000 in the second year. . Both companies provide five social insurances and one housing fund. . . . Where should I go? . I hope the seniors here can give me some advice. . . Thank you so much!
The second one has more potential for growth and allows one to learn more; the materials for the second one were probably copied from the Internet! Don’t believe too much; casualties are rare occurrences! Be extra careful at work; especially newcomers should not try to stand out by rushing to the front – it’s better to learn slowly by following the experienced workers!
For a fellow who is about to graduate and is full of expectations for the future, to be honest, I’ve worked in an oil refinery for 20 years – there’s nothing to be afraid of. Accidents can also happen while walking on the road; success depends on your own efforts. Here are some suggestions for you: 1. Choose a reputable company. In the chemical industry, HaiChuan has representatives in almost every unit and at every level. You can learn about the conditions of most companies, and you can share the names of the companies you’re interested in, so others can help you make a decision. 2. A company’s strength does not necessarily mean more opportunities for your development; opt for smaller companies that are growing rapidly, as this will help you achieve success more quickly. I know well that many young men under 30 have already become senior leaders in companies. In large enterprises like Haier, it takes great competence and opportunities to make a name for oneself. 3. One should work with the same determination as a senior high school student preparing for exams; then nothing is impossible Don’t adopt the lazy attitude that comes with entering university – it will ruin your life. Discipline yourself and be diligent in your studies. 4. Learn how to behave as a human being; social interactions are essential, and one can’t act like a child who acts willfully. Most young people suffer losses and make mistakes in this regard. Avoid direct confrontations; instead, be polite. Show your determination on principle issues at the right time to assert yourself. Don’t be overly impulsive and dismissive of others; those with more experience are your mentors, and you must respect them even if you disagree. There’s so much to say, but unfortunately I can’t type quickly; it’s difficult for me to type, so I can only talk to you about these things
The original poster, please share my personal suggestion. When choosing a job, one factor is personal interests and hobbies, and the other is family considerations. In the first five years of working, don’t focus on the salary; instead, consider how much you can learn and what opportunities are available. It’s not necessary to choose extremely large companies – what matters is the opportunities for growth and further learning that the company offers, as well as its potential and future plans. New projects present many opportunities, as well as certain risks; it is only by growing in such an environment that one can progress more quickly.
If I were to change jobs, I would go to a newly established company. In my current employer, the positions are already filled; those they hire us for are just for doing manual work. Oh, one more thing: what can you do with an annual income of 50,000 yuan in Ningbo? Isn’t that too low?
Firstly, it allows one to learn things; secondly, it offers room for growth
In my opinion, refineries have relatively low levels of casualties and toxic hazards; pharmaceutical factories, on the other hand, are quite dangerous. Moreover, there are many opportunities for building new factories, so it’s better to go with the second option
The second one; I’m not sure if construction has started yet. If it’s under construction, it looks quite promising. It’s useless to look at the current salary; what matters is what’s to come.
Take control of your own future; the second one is highly capable – yes, it’s him
