The existing heat exchanger is installed vertically. Heat transfer oil flows in the shell side, while the material flows in the tube side. Materials enter from below and exit from above, while in the tube side they enter from above and exit from below. This raises a problem: during operation, non-condensable gases accumulate in the upper part of the shell side. Although there are vent valves, operating them is not very convenient. Dear sea friends, is there any suitable method to avoid or resolve the problem of non-condensable gas accumulation? Thank you!
Isn’t the vent valve controlled by a computer? ! No sensors?! ! Manually controlled?
It’s not controlled by a computer now; there are no sensing devices as you mentioned. It appears from the diagram that manual deflation is used. However, it is not very convenient or timely to operate, and workers also have limited energy. So let’s see if there’s a good way to solve this problem.

It is best to use a bottom-in, top-out flow for heat transfer oil to ensure that non-condensable gases can be discharged. It is best to use an automatic vent valve for setting up the venting system, as no manual operation is required.
Reply to 1# dqhkzzg: The exhaust valve pipeline generally isn’t about 1” in diameter, right? Since it’s operated intermittently, during the major maintenance period technical measures can be taken to modify the pipeline – by installing a valve at the lowest point, ground-level exhaust can be achieved, thus solving the problem.
By changing the flow pattern to bottom-in and top-out, and using a heat transfer oil pump to pump the oil into the heat exchanger where it exits from the upper part, enabling circulation for heating, this problem should be solvable
I’m not sure whether, when designing this device, a venting mechanism was included in the supported versions; if not, gas-related problems will still exist! Because there are dead zones on the support version!
A device similar to a buffer tank can be installed at the inlet or outlet mentioned above, so that these non-condensable gases can accumulate there and then be discharged regularly!
