When you start HYSYS, there are two files that must be read; one of them is the parameter file, and the other is a workbook-format file. The parameter file tells HYSYS which important files and modules need to be used, and how to locate these previously stored files, etc. You can have many parameter files saved (for example, if you work on various cases, you save a parameter file for each one), but the filename of the parameter file used when starting up must be the same, namely hysys.prf. This file is located in HYSYS’s startup folder. If you start HYSYS from the Start menu, your personal parameter files will likely be located in Y:\HYSYS (note that if you are not part of this HYSYS training course, you may not have a Y drive, as this drive is used to store group projects). If you check that folder, you will find that, except for some special cases, I have already prepared a hysys.prf file there for you. If you want to introduce your own parameters, you must overwrite that hysys.prf file. (Changes to the parameter file are automatically saved every time a case is saved, so there is no need to perform overwrite operations frequently.) Could some expert tell us where these two files are located, so that we can edit them ourselves and call on them each time?
