Our company experienced smoke emission from the coke oven during the replacement of the primary cooler. May I ask, fellow experts, what could be the cause?
The most fundamental reason is that the switching process results in low suction pressure in front of the pre-cooler, which affects the pressure in the coke oven gas collection system and leads to gas leakage from the coke oven.
Could you explain it in more detail? At the time of the switch, the blower was working properly, and the operators followed the procedures. The only thing is that when we switched to the backup system, the backup pre-cooler had been further purged.
Was the cooler resistance checked during the reverse initial cooling process? Can we rule out the possibility of someone making a mistake? If everything else is normal and the suction pressure in front of the fan is normal, then the issue lies with the primary cooler. High pipeline resistance in the primary cooler or at the primary cooler can affect suction. If you have time, you can explain the situation at that time in more detail.
Reply to 4# hao101029: At that time, the suction force of our primary cooler decreased, but the speed of our fans remained unchanged; therefore, a problem with the fans can be ruled out. Meanwhile, the oxygen content in our gas increased during that period. (I think some air may have entered the primary cooler, causing air resistance; at the same time, it was drawn into the blower, resulting in a decrease in suction pressure ahead of the machine.)
