The top circulation pump fails to deliver flow during the tower washing process in the fractionation tower

During the washing process of the distillation tower, the top circulation pump failed to deliver flow. Water had been injected for two hours already; the temperature inside the tower remained stable, and both the pressure at the top of the distillation tower and the reaction pressure were within normal ranges. Suddenly, the top circulation pump stopped working. Everyone tried to figure out what could have caused this situation. Even when the backup pump was used, no flow was achieved. What should be done immediately in such a case, and how can it be adjusted? Later, some flow was achieved, but it was very low – around 50 T, which is about half of the normal level. What could be the reason for this?
The pipeline at the inlet of the top circulation pump, as well as the filter, are blocked by the debris that has washed out; water is used through the pipe connected to the pump inlet to push it aside.
