Registered Safety Engineer, Chemical Engineering Design

I work at a chemical engineering design company. This year I took the exams for Certified Chemical Engineer (Foundation) and Certified Safety Engineer. The results for the Certified Safety Engineer exam have come in, and I passed it; however, it seems that this certificate isn’t very useful in design firms. It’s truly tragic.
The Certified Safety Engineer certificate isn’t useful at the moment; I obtained it back in 2008. I’ll need it in the future.

Who knows when that will be in the future?
I now also realize it’s not very useful; the main thing is to pass the exam and, after obtaining the certificate, find an organization to register with. Moreover, isn’t there training required every year as well? Just thinking about it is annoying. Even though I passed the exam, I still have worries.
