During winter production, in the section where absorption takes place and in the water-cooled part of the liquefied gas system, is it possible for any part to freeze up and become blocked?
Places where water is used are prone to freezing, especially those with small pipe diameters and at bends; measures to prevent freezing need to be strengthened in winter, and drain valves must be opened!
The hazard of liquefied hydrocarbons containing water is that when the pressure drops, a large amount of heat must be absorbed from the surroundings, causing the water to freeze and block the pipelines, eventually leading to blockages. We brought water along with the liquid hydrocarbons and used it to flush the 800-meter pipeline section. Responsibility was not clearly defined, so my team and the pipeline transportation team each handled 400 meters of the pipeline; we cut it into sections and used steam to clear them out. It was extremely difficult work, done in freezing cold weather, while riding on top of the pipeline.
Will a similar situation occur at the southern refineries? How can liquid hydrocarbons contain water? I am catalyzing; only the reflux tank at the top of the stabilizer contains a small amount of water, in the form of water pockets. Just take it off; in fact, it’s rarely taken off. The other devices are not quite clear.
