Reply to 6# Jiangnan’s Talent: From your description, it seems to be a plunger pump. High-quality packing, such as carbon fiber impregnated with PTFE, should be used. The main causes of leakage include: the packing being compressed too tightly, scratches on the plunger rod, and excessive swinging of the plunger rod (due to large clearance in the bearing shells or worn crossheads).
The packing seal you are using is leaking; this may be due to the packing not being compressed properly during installation or an incorrect method of packing. If the same problem occurs after replacing the packing material, it could be caused by vibration of the pump shaft or surface corrosion and damage to the shaft.
