The triple-eccentric butterfly valves used in the PSA system for hydrogen production at a capacity of 100,000 standard cubic feet per hour in our plant have persistent sealing problems; the main issue is that the gaskets wear out quickly. I would like to know what methods can be used to prevent damage to the seals – these triple-eccentric butterfly valves are used by both Tianyi and Huaxi
Is it the sealing surface of the valve that’s damaged, or is it the gasket on the flange that’s broken? It probably means the sealing surface is damaged, causing internal leakage. Does the medium contain impurities? Is the switch turned on and off frequently? We are professional butterfly valve manufacturers; feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
The valve quality is substandard; no experience with 100,000 units
Which design is your device based on? For programmable valves, globe valve types can be used, and those produced by Chengdu Wuhuan Special Valve Factory are quite commonly utilized.
Bro, it’s possible that there are particles in your medium; I recommend installing a filter at the outlet of the medium, which will help prevent these particles from affecting the valves.
It shouldn’t be due to impurities; rather, it’s the gas that erodes the sealing surface!! If the diameter is not large, it is recommended to use a straight-type valve, as it is said to perform better than disc valves!!
Are the voltage equalizing valves often damaged? Is there a design issue with the metal seals of these valves, preventing them from functioning over long periods of time?
It would be best to send a photo for a look. We have encountered the same problem as well
What is your switching frequency, and does replacing the seal fix the issue every time it leaks? How long was the valve in use before it started leaking?
This is a global challenge. Because the switching frequency is simply too high. Generally, the service life of the sealing surface is about half a year to one year.
It is caused by the airflow scouring the graphite interlayer of the sealing surface at the moment of shutdown. It is recommended to use two new ones. Triple eccentricity is generally much better used in liquid media rather than gas media. --------Beijing Ruituo – an expert in triple eccentric mechanisms.
