What causes the intermittent abnormal noise in a Roots blower?
Personal opinion: 1. It could be the fluctuations in the pressure at the inlet and outlet of your fan that cause rotor imbalance. For example, fluctuations in the outlet pressure of the conveying fan can cause the fan’s balance disk to become unbalanced for a short period of time, resulting in abnormal noises. 2. Check whether the foundation bolts are secure; loose foundation bolts can cause resonance and produce abnormal noises. 3. Is the alignment of the coupling meeting the requirements?
First, check whether the bolts around the machine body are loose. 2. Is the coupling damaged? If everything else is fine, other possible reasons include: 1. It might have been improperly assembled during the last installation. 2. Fluctuations in outlet pressure can cause imbalance in the rotor. 3. An incorrect alignment between the synchronous gears and the impeller rotor. 4. Gear wear
Personally, it’s also possible that the bearing is broken.
Our company’s fans have also experienced this issue in the past: vibration occurred at certain pressure levels, and it also caused vibrations in the pipes.
