Reasons for insufficient discharge volume in reciprocating compressors
High inhalation resistance, high inhalation temperature, poor sealing of the air valve, excessive clearance volume, leaks in the pipes or cooler, etc
The inlet valve is damaged or blocked; the temperature of the incoming gas is high, the pressure is low, the clearance volume is large, gas leaks past the piston, cooling is inadequate; the outlet valve is damaged, and there is resistance in the pipes
Agree with what was said on the 3rd floor. Additional note: 1. If there are loops between sections, those loops need to be disabled; 2. In cases where there is a water cooler between sections, issues such as leaks within the water cooler may occur.

If the engine’s displacement is insufficient, the first thing to check is whether the valves are functioning properly; If there is no problem with the valve, the packing rings and piston rings should be checked to see if they are worn out. Some compressor manufacturers’ units are equipped with alarms for piston ring wear; if the piston rings wear out, it will trigger an alarm indicating that the piston rods are sinking, signaling the need to replace the piston rings.

Insufficient displacement can mainly be attributed to the following factors: (1) A malfunction of the air intake filter; the filter should be cleaned regularly. (2) Decrease in compressor speed: Since the air volume discharged by an air compressor is designed based on certain altitude levels, suction temperature, and humidity, when it is used at altitudes above these standards, factors such as a lower suction pressure lead to a reduction in the air volume discharged. Our company is located at a slightly higher altitude, where the air pressure is lower than the standard value; therefore, the pressure at the compressor inlet is also lower than what was designed. (3) Severe wear of the cylinder, piston, and piston rings causes the relevant clearances to increase, leading to higher leakage rates and affecting the exhaust volume. (4) The packing gland is not sealed properly, resulting in air leakage and a decrease in exhaust volume. (5) The impact of faults in the compressor’s suction and exhaust valves on the exhaust volume. (6) An inappropriate match between the spring force of the valve and the gas force: if the spring force is too strong, the valve disc opens slowly; if it is too weak, the valve disc does not close promptly. This not only affects the exhaust volume but also impacts power output as well as the lifespan of the valve disc and spring. At the same time, it will also affect changes in gas pressure and temperature. (7) The clamping force of the air valve is not appropriate. If the clamping force is too low, air leakage will occur; on the other hand, if it is too high, it can cause the valve cover to deform or get damaged.
