Dear experts, what type of analysis is the PoraparkQ chromatography column used for?
Our unit uses it to analyze gases, primarily focusing on methane in those gases. This type of chromatography column is likely used for analyzing carbon-containing organic compounds, such as ethylene, acetylene, aromatics, alkanes, and the like. Of course, the detector used is a FID.
Are you referring to the Porapak Q chromatography column, which is made from a copolymer of ethylvinylbenzene and divinylbenzene? It has very low polarity, with a maximum operating temperature of 250 degrees. It has a wide range of applications and is particularly effective for separating aliphatic hydrocarbons. It also shares similar characteristics with the Porapak-P chromatography column when it comes to separating n-propanol from n-butanol.
Hehe, I guess so; the original poster works in coal chemical analysis. The Q column can separate C1–C2 hydrocarbons, H2, and CO2. I am currently using a PROPARK-N column in combination with a 13X column to analyze CO2 and C1–C5 separately
The PorapakQ chromatography column can be used for the separation and analysis of C1-C7 alkanes, alkenes, and alkynes, such as those found in liquefied petroleum gas and household liquefied gas. A thermal conductivity detector is generally used for detection, with normalization applied; moreover, the lower the column temperature, the better the separation performance.
