Does the impeller shroud of a centrifugal compressor move along with the main shaft?
OP, where is the wheel cover located? Please explain, preferably with a diagram!
Of course, it moves with the main shaft; it’s welded to the impeller...
The wheel cover – this is presumably a component used by the manufacturer. For impellers with binary or ternary flow channels, where the manufacturing complexity is high, a method is adopted in which the disk and the cover are manufactured separately before being welded together. So it must rotate with the main shaft.
Reply to 2# lovestory: The cover should be part of the impeller. An impeller consists of three parts: blades, a cover (which is the wheel cover), and a hub (the part that connects to the shaft). Some impellers of cover plates have a front cover plate and a rear cover plate.
