Height of the reboiler return port

The reboiler is connected to the bottom of the tower; the outlet returning to the tower is located below the lowest tray, and at a higher position than the upper limit setting of the level gauge. Does anyone know why the return port needs to be positioned higher than the installation location of the level gauge? I’m very confused; looking forward to your detailed explanation
1. Helps with gas-liquid separation； 2. If the return port is located below the level gauge, the gas generated will cause large fluctuations in the liquid level, resulting in unstable readings!
