Sealing issue of the cabinet room: The cabinet room in the newly built control building of our factory is 6 meters wide and 20 meters long. The civil engineering work has been completed, and the ceiling and anti-static flooring have been installed. The cabinet room is fully sealed with no windows; however, during the civil engineering phase, a square opening measuring 500*500 mm was left in the back wall of the cabinet room for an exhaust fan, which is located above the ceiling. But since air conditioning is needed in the cabinet room, does the reserved hole need to be sealed? The exhaust fan is for fire protection purposes, but I’m not sure if it’s necessary
OP, reserved holes are definitely necessary; according to fire safety regulations, electrical control rooms must be equipped with ventilation and exhaust systems.
There’s already an air conditioner, so the cavity can be sealed; ventilation will definitely be fine, and the fire safety inspection should also pose no issues
