The runaway of the compressor is mainly caused by too low inlet flow rate and high outlet pressure; why then can a rich gas composition also lead to compressor runaway?
When the compressor starts to reverse rotate, does the outlet pressure decrease or the inlet pressure increase, resulting in pressure buildup in the system?
The rich gas component is too light to be compressed easily, resulting in pulsating flow at the compressor outlet, based on my understanding. Looking forward to experts' answers
If the components are too light, it can lead to a reduction in the power required by the centrifuge. Since the power generated by the turbine remains constant if no adjustments are made, this can cause the unit to overspeed. In simple terms, when the resistance decreases, the speed increases
Gases that are too light in composition are difficult to compress, resulting in low pressure at the compressor outlet; meanwhile, the pressure in the absorption and stabilization system is high. As a result, the gas cannot be easily discharged from within the compressor, leading to its runaway operation.
The people upstairs have repeatedly mentioned that gases with lighter components are difficult to compress; the reason for this is that when the speed of a centrifugal compressor remains constant, the lighter the gas components, the smaller the centrifugal force generated. When this centrifugal force is not sufficient to push the gas toward the outlet, surge occurs in the compressor.
