The straight-type is commonly used; in most wastewater treatment systems, low-pressure pipelines require the straight-type. The triple-eccentric type is typically used in high-pressure pipelines
Wastewater treatment systems generally operate at a pressure of 10 kilograms or 16 kilograms, with temperatures that are not high; there is also a slight acidic or alkaline environment. In such cases, rubber-lined medium-duty butterfly valves are used. For large-scale wastewater treatment projects, the brands Gemi, Bore, and Eipolo are commonly utilized.
1. Centerline butterfly valves are mainly suitable for use in water treatment plants, power plants, steel manufacturing facilities, paper production plants, as well as in chemical and food processing industries for water supply and drainage purposes. They are particularly appropriate for use in water supply systems as devices for regulating flow rates. Its main features include: short structural length, light weight, easy installation and use, low torque, flexible operation for opening and closing, the ability to be installed in any direction without orientation constraints for sealing, and the possibility of replacing the seal ring without having to disassemble the entire valve. 2. Three-eccentric butterfly valves are widely used in industrial pipelines in industries such as metallurgy, power generation, petrochemicals, as well as water supply and drainage and municipal construction, where the medium temperature is ≤425°C; they are used for regulating flow rate and cutting off fluid flow. Its main features include strong pressure resistance and high-temperature tolerance, as well as a wide range of applications. Therefore, the butterfly valve commonly used in sewage treatment is the centerline type; there is no need to use the more expensive triple-eccentric butterfly valve.
