Does anyone know what palladium catalysts are used for? Can it be used to separate oxygen from nitrogen? Trace amounts of hydrogen also need to be removed
I only know that palladium catalysts are used in hydrogenation reactions; I haven’t conducted any specific research on them. I found some information online for reference. JHDO deoxygenation palladium catalyst: The JHDO deoxygenation palladium catalyst is a new type of high-efficiency catalyst that uses precious metals as a carrier and metallic palladium as the active component, and it is produced through special manufacturing processes. It is mainly used for deoxygenation in hydrogen, and can also be widely applied for hydrogenation deoxygenation in inert gases such as nitrogen and carbon dioxide. The greatest advantages of this catalyst are its large pore volume, high compressive strength, large specific surface area, high activity, good selectivity, long service life, and the ability to be regenerated for continuous use. SODH dehydrogenation palladium catalyst: The SODH-type dehydrogenation palladium catalyst is a precious metal-oxide system catalyst, primarily used for the dehydrogenation and purification of inert gases such as nitrogen and argon, as well as CO and CO2. Gases with a high oxygen content (0.5–3%), such as nitrogen, argon, and CO, can be converted into high-purity hydrogen-free gases by removing excess hydrogen through hydrogenation deoxygenation. Its dehydrogenation principle involves the reaction of hydrogen in the gas with the \"solid\" oxygen on the catalyst to produce water, thereby achieving dehydrogenation. When the “solid” oxygen on the catalyst is exhausted, it can be oxidized and regenerated for repeated use. This catalyst can perform dehydrogenation at room temperature (with heating to 160°C being even better), exhibits high activity, achieves clean and thorough hydrogen removal (residual hydrogen ≤1 ppm), and offers reliable performance.
Thank you to the original poster for sharing; I’ve learned something
Our company mainly uses palladium catalysts to remove small amounts of oxygen, and they are used quite frequently.
I would like to ask where I can buy palladium catalysts. :)
We specialize in deoxidation; feel free to contact me if you need it! A palladium catalyst is used! ! !
