Sodium thiosulfate E. Sodium sulfate F. Sodium carbonate. When an appropriate amount of dilute sulfuric acid is added to this solution, a pale yellow precipitate forms, along with the release of gas. This gas has the smell of rotten eggs, can turn clear lime water cloudy, and cannot decolorize the magenta solution.
