Dear colleagues, here is the question: Due to the requirements of the manufacturing process, a jacket heating system is necessary, and given the temperature requirements, a hot water jacket is required. After reviewing the SH2040-2002 Standard for the Design of Pipes and Jacketed Pipes in the Petrochemical Industry, no information was found regarding the length of the individual supply pipes for hot water jackets, nor the flow rate of the fluids, or how to determine the diameter of these supply pipes. I would like to ask everyone: for hot water jacketed pipes, what is the typical length and diameter at which a single supply line is sufficient for heating with hot water? At what size do jacketed pipes require two separate supply lines? What factors determine the dimensions of these supply lines – are it the requirements related to process heating, the temperature of the hot water supply, or other considerations?
