If the Kay membrane is operating properly, then there is likely an issue with the effluent from your preprocessor.
This post was last edited by tclvjian on 2011-12-26 at 14:25. If it is a process designed by the manufacturer of Kai Membranes, generally high levels of magnesium hydroxide in the brine end up inside the Kai Membranes.

When the preprocessor does not show signs of fouling, and if the pressure remains low after pickling but increases over time, it indicates an excess of organic substances in the saline solution. This is exactly what we’re experiencing here. We now keep the free chlorine level in the saline solution at the preprocessor’s outlet between 1-3 mg/l, and as a result, the pressure on the Kay membrane does not rise. Currently, pickling is carried out every 15 days. If the membrane pressure remains high after pickling, there is a problem with the membrane itself.
