Can these two types be used together? How can one tell what kind of grease it is based on its color? Also, I can’t see how much grease is in the grease chamber. What should I do?
Yellow usually refers to 3# lithium-based grease, which is quite common these days; Blue usually refers to HP high-temperature grease. Lubricants are generally not mixed with each other. Lubrication has a specific cycle, and oil should be added regularly in accordance with this cycle.
Reply to 1# zbb8724: Under normal conditions, such as when the device is operating at low speeds, this approach can be used. When it’s not possible to see the amount of grease present, we add grease regularly or until the old grease starts to overflow. We have conducted experiments showing that different types of grease cause an increase in the temperature of the bearing box after being used; however, the temperature returns to normal once it reaches its peak. It is recommended that this method not be used for critical equipment. If it’s absolutely necessary, then the bearings should be disassembled and the grease replaced. Remember to use hollow-shaft lubrication, and only 20%-40% of the capacity of the bearings should be filled with grease. A strict regular oil-changing schedule should also be established.
