What are the structural differences between intelligent positioners and ordinary electrical positioners? One of our smart positioners experiences intermittent power loss; that is, the valve suddenly closes completely. Upon on-site inspection, the LCD screen of the positioner shows no display, and the voltage measured with a multimeter is normal, yet the positioner fails to receive power. Then it suddenly works again, and this repeats several times, with it being functional most of the time. Since this valve is quite important, it has to be manually turned to the fully open position.
