It mainly depends on the quality of the crude oil; if it’s Grade 4, hydrogenation is generally required.
The sulfur content limit for National Standard III gasoline is no more than 150PPM, while for diesel it is no more than 350PPM
Distilled diesel produced through atmospheric and vacuum distillation must undergo desulfurization treatment if its sulfur content is above 350. If it really can’t be dealt with, hydrogenation is the only option
