The process requires measurement of the flow rate of hydrogen in a single-phase stream. The design team selected a heat-conductivity mass flow meter, but since this type of meter has not been used before, it is not possible to determine its performance. It is unclear whether a heat-conductivity mass flow meter can be used in our process pipelines
I think it’s definitely possible. . . . .
The key is that the gas being measured must have a constant composition; other gases and impurities cannot mix in from time to time, otherwise accurate measurement is not possible. The principle behind this is based on thermistors. Please provide the process parameters and actual gas parameters to the equipment supplier so that they can confirm them for you; this is essential!
Reply to 3# shell: Thank you very much for your reply. The purity of the single-phase medium we use is 99.99%. I was wondering if you have any information related to thermal conductivity mass flow meters; I would be extremely grateful if you could provide it

In principle, it is appropriate to use a thermal mass flow meter to measure single-component hydrogen, as hydrogen has a high heat of vaporization
Reply to 7# LouTaiYanYu: I haven’t worked with this type of instrument before, so I’m a bit worried. If it can’t provide accurate measurement, it will be a problem because our hydrogen is used as a raw material in the reactor, and accurate measurement is necessary. Is there any way to remedy this situation? I mean, are the connections of this instrument on the pipeline the same as or similar to those of other instruments?
Our company specializes in Dutch Bronkhorst flowmeters, which include thermal and coriolis type flowmeters. If you are interested in learning more, please send me your email address and I will send the details to you.
