How can one determine the direction of a Delta Bar flow meter? Can it be installed at an angle during installation?
It must be installed perpendicular to the pipeline; otherwise its flow field will change and it will no longer be in the designed operating condition
It can be determined based on the positive and negative pressure chambers indicated in the table header: the positive pressure chamber is located upstream, while the negative pressure chamber is downstream. In fact, this type of flow meter also belongs to the throttling type of flow meters
Flowmeters such as DeltaBar and Velibar all have clear direction arrows indicating the proper installation direction. During installation, the probe should be as vertical as possible with respect to the pipeline, but a slight tilt of about 1-2 degrees is allowed.
