When regenerating the yin-yang bed, a heat exchanger is specifically installed to raise the temperature; what should be the appropriate level? What are the differences in the procedures for in vivo regeneration and in vitro regeneration, and can regeneration always take place in vivo?

The regeneration temperature depends on the type of resin you are using; moreover, the temperature requirements vary between cationic and anionic resins. The specific information should be provided in the materials given to you by your manufacturer. According to the available data, there is no uniform temperature. In-situ regeneration occurs when the resin becomes ineffective and loses its working exchange capacity; in other words, the active groups H+ and OH- ions of the resin are displaced, and acids and bases are used to regenerate it in order to restore its working exchange capacity. It’s not clear whether in vitro regeneration involves scrubbing here; in our case, the resin inside the bed is sent to a scrubbing tower, where it is washed with air and water. The main purposes of this process are two: first, to loosen the resin that has clumped together, and second, to remove impurities from the resin.
