Our company’s technicians have different opinions regarding whether to use PTFE sheets under the sliding end base of heat exchangers. After visiting several similar installations, one of them used PTFE sheets throughout, while three others used butter instead. The design institute’s opinion is that it is not necessary to include it when the temperature difference is small. But what exactly is the temperature difference required to add it? Are there any standards or guidelines? I would appreciate the guidance from those who are more experienced.
