Why does the auxiliary oil pump stop automatically once the main oil pump of the hydrogen compressor starts up? Is there such a thing? If such a statement exists, what is the basic principle behind it? Thank you
It’s a chain. Once the main oil pump starts and the oil pressure reaches the system requirements, the pressure signal triggers a interlock that stops the auxiliary oil pump from rotating. Otherwise, if both pumps are switched on at the same time, the pressure will be very high, which is unnecessary.
I agree with what was said above; it’s a interlock system. If the auxiliary pump doesn’t stop, the high oil pressure will cause the outlet safety valve to activate. Under normal operation, the auxiliary pump is set to automatic mode through this interlock, but before the main pump starts and the oil pressure is adjusted, the auxiliary pump cannot be set to automatic mode – otherwise, it too would start operating.
This is a interlocking mechanism: the main oil pump and the auxiliary oil pump serve as backups for each other. Once the main oil pump starts operating, the auxiliary oil pump stops working due to this interlocking mechanism. However, if the auxiliary oil pump fails, it triggers the main oil pump to start operating.
It doesn’t matter whether this is a chain or not; the same holds true whether the main motor is started or the auxiliary oil pump is stopped manually.

Consider whether oil pumps usually operate in automatic mode when the oil pressure is low. If the lubricating oil pressure can reach 0.15 MPa before any adjustment is made, can the control oil pressure reach 0.6 MPa? In that case, will the auxiliary pump also start when operating in automatic mode? I’d appreciate your insights for reference
The auxiliary oil pump is generally used for pre-lubrication before startup, as well as to provide support when the oil pressure falls below the set value during operation
