Question: What are the dimensions of the three towers in a methanol distillation plant with a capacity of 3,000 tons/day or 2,000 tons/day?
Reply to 2# lizhaoye: It’s the diameter; I can’t remember the height, haha
Pre-distillation tower Φ2400×29000; Pressurized tower Φ2500×40100; Atmospheric pressure tower Φ3400×49000
I’m not sure whether you are involved in design or installation work; the diameter of the tower is determined by the appropriate linear velocity of the trays selected for use inside the tower. The diameter is calculated based on this appropriate velocity, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. If you need a design, I can help you work it out!
Reply to 4# qustwrc: What is the distillation capacity of yours in units of Nissan? Can it be 2000?
Reply to 5# zhenbo: Could you briefly explain what the typical linear velocity is for distilling methanol these days? 1.3 0.5 1.8 – are all the units in meters per second? Are there any new types of trays that can increase the operating gas velocity?
Speed of an empty tower? Dry plate voltage drop? Are it these two values that have an impact? Does the tower diameter affect the distillation load? Does tower height affect purity? Could you explain why the tower diameter affects the load? I didn’t put enough effort into the design, haha. 6 years have passed and I’ve forgotten it all
How much distillation does yours produce per day?~~~~~~
Designed with jet trays: pre-distillation tower Φ3000, pressure tower Φ3800, atmospheric pressure tower Φ4800
Reply to 6# Shouhou: With an input of 95 cubic meters, the daily output is 1,600 tons; this is not yet at full capacity. Increasing the input amount should enable reaching full capacity.
