The steam addition unit uses the French AXENS process package. It is often impossible to add hydrogen; the outlet pressure of the compressor has already reached the set value. It can be observed that hydrogen cannot be added once the feed rate reaches 80 t/h. The temperature of the raw material is 40 degrees higher than the design value. Please analyze what could be the reason for this
It’s mainly pressure; once there’s enough pressure, it happens.
Reply to 2# Pangolin: The outlet pressure of the compressor has reached the operating condition. The designed feed rate is 89 t/h, but when it drops to 80 t/h, hydrogen cannot be supplied. I suspect that the temperature of the feed material might be too high, resulting in a high vaporization rate, which is preventing proper supply
Is hydrogen supplementation the same as adding new hydrogen? If no new hydrogen is supplied, the reaction pressure cannot be maintained. If the pressure is sufficient, should the entire process from the new hydrogen line to the hydrogen mixing point with the feedstock be opened, and checked to ensure that there is no throttling at the check valve at the mixing point or elsewhere. If there is no throttling, is the new hydrogen line or the pipeline at the hydrogen mixing point undersized? This issue can be addressed by contacting the design firm for an on-site inspection; it should be solvable.
It could be a pipeline issue; there’s little chance of vapor pressure causing problems.
