Our company plans to build a BDO production facility that will use the INVISTA Reppe process for manufacturing; acetylene and formaldehyde will be the main raw materials. We are currently working on the design of the process package, and we hope those who are familiar with the Reppe process for BDO production can share their knowledge! My QQ: 582412874:handshake
Could you tell me which company you work for? What is BDO’s production capacity? What are the production processes for supporting facilities such as acetylene and formaldehyde?
Reply 2# abc2001: The designed annual production capacity of the BDO plant is 100,000 tons per year. Acetylene is produced from natural gas, while formaldehyde is manufactured using the iron-molybdenum process developed by Perstorp in Sweden.
Based on the situation here, I assume you’re a company based in Yinchuan. There’s no need to rush when working; take your time. You can learn once the design is ready, and INVISTA will provide training for you!
Based on the domestic situation, you must have guessed wrong. They should be new enterprises in Xinjiang; the difference in manufacturing techniques between enterprises in Ningxia and those in Xinjiang is obvious at a glance.
We are also building this; acetylene is produced using calcium carbide, and methanol is manufactured through the iron-molybdenum method. It’s clear that you are companies from Xinjiang

No. I guess it’s the Yanchang Petroleum project. Hehe
Is it not the case that calcium carbide is currently used to produce acetylene?
Currently, the alkynal method is primarily used in China, and that is mainly in the northwest region; the maleic anhydride method simply cannot survive there.
