To vaporize 3 tons per hour of liquid chlorine, what size vaporizer is required? The desired pressure for chlorine gas is 0.01 Mpa, while the pressure for liquid chlorine is 0.9 Mpa. Could someone please give some advice?
Reply 1# hutofuwei **There is no strict limit on the volume of the vaporizer, but in my opinion, considering the amount of chlorine you need, the volume of the vaporizer should not exceed 1500L. In accordance with the safety regulations for chlorine specified in GB11984-89, batch-type or tubular vaporizers should be used for heating, and only hot water at a temperature below 45°C is allowed; the use of steam for heating is strictly prohibited. Additionally, the vaporization pressure must not exceed 1MPa. The heating jacket of a kettle-type gasifier shall not cover the bottom. A pressure gauge, thermometer, safety valve, and pressure alarm device should be installed on the vaporizer. It is strictly prohibited to return the remaining liquid chlorine in the vaporizer back to the liquid chlorine cylinders. The carburetor should be cleaned and drained regularly.
The heat exchange area required for this is not large, but the pressure drop is too high; it is more appropriate to reduce the temperature and pressure first
