Dangers of a reciprocating compressor oiler not injecting oil

If it is oil-lubricated, it is necessary to ensure that the oil filler is in good condition. We have experienced equipment accidents here due to the oil injector not delivering oil.

The oil injection system of reciprocating compressors is also generally divided into two circuits: one for the cylinders and another for the packing. If the cylinder is not lubricated, it will lead to increased wear of the piston rings and a shortened lifespan for them; on the other hand, too much lubricant can result in the medium becoming oily, which poses a risk. In our factory, there have been instances where excessive oil in the main fan caused pipeline explosions. The principle of lubricating the packing is similar to that in cylinders: it provides lubrication to reduce wear between the packing and the piston rod. A reduced amount of oil can also lead to abnormal wear of the packing, resulting in leaks! Excessive oil injection can cause an increase in nitrogen pressure in compressors that use nitrogen sealing~~ The nitrogen recovery line becomes contaminated with oil!

The oiler lubricates the packing in the stuffing box as well as the piston rings in the cylinder; if it does not function, wear will increase. Additionally, the amount of oil to be used must be set according to the instructions.

Air compressors and oxygen compressors must not be lubricated with oil!

If the oiler does not supply oil, it can damage the packing, piston rings, and thrust plates. Both the piston and the cylinder have an impact.

Air compressors come in two types: those that require oiling and those that do not. The difference between them lies in the materials of the piston rings and the packing; oil must never be added to oxygen compressors~~~
