The production process for such revived catalysts involves purchasing high-quality balancing agents from large oil refineries; upon returning to the company, these agents are acid-washed to remove some of the heavy metals on their surface (such as Ni, V, Fe, Na, etc.), thereby restoring the catalyst’s activity. There are also several additional processes that, it is said, can further increase its specific surface area. Our company has used some of it, but the results were not satisfactory; the properties of the raw material likely had a significant impact, as it caused a slight decrease in the yield of light oil from the unit after its use. Then the use of this revivifier was discontinued, and there was considerable debate within the company regarding its performance. The performance parameter for the regenerated catalyst is: heavy metal content not exceeding 10,000 PPm ; Specific surface area greater than 200 square meters per gram ; The microreactivity is greater than 85. Some believe that after acid washing, the strength of the regenerated catalyst decreases, making it prone to breaking within the system; this leads to a high dilute-phase density in the regenerator, elevated temperatures, and a risk of overheating at the inlet of the flue gas turbine, as well as a short duration during which the catalyst retains its activity ; Some also believe that the specific surface area of pure revival catalysts does not exceed 200, and their activity does not exceed 70; therefore, suppliers add some other highly active additives to them. That fellow from the maritime community is familiar with this area; why not discuss together the performance of resurrection catalysts and their potential for industrial application?
We used a batch of them before as well, but it didn’t work; now we only use revivers when there is significant poisoning of the catalyst that requires extensive replacement.
Hi there on the 2nd floor, could you tell us in what specific aspects the effectiveness of the resurrection catalyst is lacking when you use it?
