Hehe, actually not that much money can be saved here. You see, the modification involves more than just replacing pneumatic actuators with electric ones; it also requires various tests and the proper coordination of different components, not to mention ensuring that the explosion-proof properties are maintained.
There’s no need for modifications; just buy a new one according to the process requirements – it’s more reliable!

Buy an electric actuator, install it at the handwheel, connect the power cable and control cable, and then make a connection in the DCS – that’s it

This thing is too complicated. First, you need to know the actual torque of the valve, and then the connection dimensions between the valve body and the actuator (axis diameter, connection flanges). If even one of these details is incorrect, brackets and axes are required, which makes it very troublesome.
It sounds simple – just replace the manual mechanism with an electric actuator – but torque needs to be taken into consideration; it’s best to consult the manufacturer of electric actuators. Additionally, it’s essential to understand the mechanical connections in the transmission part.
