**Xie Zhenhua, vice chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the 4th China-Japan Comprehensive Forum on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection that the energy conservation and environmental protection industry is a strategic emerging industry, a new source of economic growth, with broad prospects for development. Xie Zhenhua said that China will regard the energy-saving and environmental protection industry as an important pillar for developing a green economy, a low-carbon economy, and a circular economy. It will make efforts to promote the development of this industry by implementing key projects to stimulate industrial demand, improving the policy framework, establishing effective incentive mechanisms, emphasizing independent innovation, strengthening scientific and technological support, improving service systems, and optimizing the market environment. High-temperature resistant and energy-saving coatings generally refer to coatings that, even under high temperatures and strong impacts, do not peel or flake off, yet maintain appropriate physical and mechanical properties; they reduce the heat exchange efficiency of the coating layer and enhance its thermal insulation capabilities. The high-temperature resistant and energy-saving coating is developed, produced, and sold exclusively by Beijing Zhisheng Weihua Chemical Co., Ltd. It is an eco-friendly water-based coating made from inorganic material slurries; such coatings contain many voids, which enables them to provide excellent insulation and energy-saving effects. The coating does not contain organic components; organic components tend to age and become flammable when exposed to air for long periods, resulting in a short service life. This coating is a gray and off-white paste, with nano-ceramic hollow particles, silica-alumina fibers, high-temperature resistant solutions, and various reflective materials as its main components. Its thermal conductivity is only 0.03 W/m•K. The high-temperature resistant solution used is specially developed by Zhiseng Weihua; it can withstand temperatures ranging from -81 to 1700°C. This coating effectively suppresses and blocks infrared radiation as well as heat conduction, achieving an insulation efficiency of around 90%. It also allows for a 90% energy savings rate, by preventing the loss of heat radiation and heat conduction from hot objects. It can retain 70% of the heat inside a building. When applied to buildings, the ZS-1 Zhiseng brand high-temperature resistant insulation coating provides a fire resistance rating of Class A, offering effective fire prevention and flame suppression. It does not produce any volatile gases, is waterproof and moisture-resistant, and has a long service life – making it the best material for fire protection, insulation, and heat retention in construction. It can effectively insulate low-temperature objects, suppress heat loss caused by ambient radiant heat, and prevent condensation from occurring. By applying an 8 mm thick ZS-1 high-temperature resistant insulation coating to the surface of an object at 1100℃, the surface temperature can be reduced to below 100℃. Such coatings can be widely used in high-temperature steam pipes, high-temperature furnaces, petroleum cracking equipment, engine components, and for the high-temperature protection of metals in the metallurgical industry. Taking furnaces as an example, China has 1 million steam boilers, 200,000 industrial furnaces, 500,000 reverberatory furnaces, and 400,000 large-scale resistance furnaces; in addition, there are ceramic furnaces, cement furnaces, etc., bringing the total number to no less than 4 million. They all consume a large amount of energy and pollute the environment. Spraying this coating on the outer surfaces of high-temperature pipes, equipment, and containers can effectively suppress thermal radiation and heat loss. Tests have shown that applying a 6 mm thick layer of ZS-1 high-temperature insulating coating to the outer surface of industrial furnaces can reduce heat loss by more than 30%. When applied to the inner walls of furnaces, it provides a smoother surface than any other material and offers better reflection of flame infrared rays, thereby reducing heat absorption by the furnace walls and increasing the temperature of the flames inside the furnace. A 10-mm-thick ZhiSheng WeiHua brand high-temperature resistant insulation coating was applied to the chamber at -30°C, and the temperature inside the chamber remained above 0°C for 24 hours. Furthermore, this high-temperature heat-insulating coating has a chloride content of zero; it also prevents moist chlorides from the air or the manufacturing process from coming into contact with the metal surface, thus avoiding the embrittlement of the welds in metal welding. It is estimated that over the next decade, the widespread use of high-temperature-resistant, energy-saving coatings in the industrial and construction sectors will enable China to achieve energy savings of up to 33%-50%, resulting in annual economic benefits worth trillions of yuan. With further research and development in coating technologies, as well as a better understanding of the various properties of infrared radiation coatings, high-temperature resistant and energy-saving coatings are bound to have an even wider range of applications in the future.
