What is the visual difference between variable-frequency pumps and non-variable-frequency pumps? Is it related to the number of cables connected? Thank you all
Variable-frequency pumps have an additional button at the start switch for adjusting the motor frequency, while non-variable-frequency pumps have only a start button.
Variable-frequency pumps and non-variable-frequency pumps usually have the same pump design, with only the motor being variable-frequency. If a variable-frequency motor is used, its appearance is somewhat different; the most noticeable difference is the additional separate wiring box for the fan.
Inverters are generally installed in the switchgear in the electrical control room, so there is no difference in the appearance of the field equipment
The frequency converter is located in the distribution cabinet, and it’s difficult to tell from the appearance of the pump
