We use Wood’s technology to process crude benzene; our hydrogenation unit does not have a device for removing heavy benzene, which means the quality of crude benzene has a significant impact on our processes. Due to the large fluctuations in crude benzene quality, we need to clean the pre-evaporator every 1.5 years or so, which is quite troublesome. We are considering installing a device for removing heavy benzene or adding polymerization inhibitors I don’t know what the effects will be after removing weight or adding a polymerization inhibitor How much will the investment and operational costs be? Does anyone who knows know about it? Can we talk about it?

The composition of the crude benzene varies greatly: cyclopentane %, methylcyclopentane %, benzene %, n-hexane %, cyclohexane %, n-heptane %, methylcyclohexane %, toluene %, ethylbenzene %, xylene %, styrene %, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene %, 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene %, n-decane %, 1,2,3-trimethylbenzene %, indane %, **naphthalenes %, naphthalene %, triphenyl content %. The values are 0.8072, 51.2447, 0.0058, 0.0655, 12.6664, 4.1364, 6.9284, 1.0424, 1.1809, 0.8210, 5.0391, 0.3348, 2.7087, and 70.84. These are the data on the composition of crude benzene at certain times, and it’s quite poor quality.
It’s a bit messy, but it’s clear that the quality of your raw materials is really poor. The triphenyl content is very low. I’m not sure whether your crude benzene is produced internally or purchased from elsewhere; it’s likely to be quite cheap

OP, what is this? It’s not going to be the worst version, right? The triphenyl content is over 70% – can it still be produced? What is the purpose of purchasing raw materials for? You only clean it once every 1.5 years? ? ? This fully demonstrates the greatness of Wood technology! It can survive such harsh conditions, and yet it needs to be cleaned every 1.5 years? We use domestic technology; the level of triphenyls in crude benzene is controlled at over 86%, and it’s already a blessing that it needs to be purified only once a year! On a dewaxing tower, some heavy benzene can be produced, which might be beneficial later on; however, the price of heavy benzene is even lower than that of crude benzene. Given that your current plant is designed to be cleaned every 1.5 years, there is no need at all to install a dewaxing tower. Polymerization inhibitors can be considered; they work quite well.
Our company also uses Wood Company’s technology, and we don’t have any equipment for removing heavy benzene. The blockage at the bottom of the pre-evaporator is indeed severe; we are currently using polymerization inhibitors, but this is only a temporary solution. To completely address the problems caused by fluctuations in the quality of crude benzene, we need to install a two-benzene tower
