The company plans to use a batch of PE composite pipes for transporting slurry. For industrial use, it is not clear whether PE pipes with steel frames or PE pipes with steel wire mesh (industrial grade) should be used. There are mainly two types of steel-reinforced PE composite pipes available on the market currently: steel-reinforced plastic composite pipes and wire mesh-reinforced plastic composite pipes. The main difference between the two is as follows: 1. In the case of steel-reinforced plastic composite pipes (the former type), the wire mesh framework is a welded, integrated structure; the advantage of this structure is its high stiffness and high pressure resistance, with a spacing between supports that can reach 5-6 meters; In the plastic composite pipe with a steel wire mesh skeleton (the latter), the skeleton is wound around the inner PE tube without any welding; as a result, this type of pipe has low stiffness and cannot be used in overhead installations. 2. The former is formed in one step without delamination, while the latter is formed in stages and the inner layer is prone to delamination, especially under conditions of high temperature and pressure. 3. The nominal diameter of the former is the inner diameter, while that of the latter is the outer diameter. 4. All the pipe fittings of the former are steel-plastic composite, while those of the latter are mostly of pure plastic construction, with no consistency between the straight pipes and the fittings.
