How to effectively remove salt deposits from the glass surface of a steam drum online

When the medium-pressure drum operates for a long time, salt deposits form on the glass plate level gauge, preventing clear visibility of the actual liquid level and posing a threat to the safe operation of the equipment. Due to high pressure and a lack of experience in flushing, I’m afraid to do it for fear of causing problems. If anyone has experience with flushing, please let me know. Thank you!

Just close the manual valve at the root and flush it. A steam drum usually has two level gauges; clean one of them first. It is best to also contact the level gauge manufacturer to learn more about the level gauges and discuss the flushing plan
This post was last edited by dongjiang1001 on 2012-2-26 at 17:39. Drum level gauges need to be flushed regularly as a standard practice; if the water quality is good, there should be no scale, and the problem likely lies in poor control of the water quality.

Close the upper and lower valves, loosen the top bolts, and clean with a long-handled bristled brush; sometimes it’s not necessarily scaling or impurities, but rather the glass has been damaged by steam. I’d like to replace the glass more thoroughly; I can send a few pictures so we can discuss it together.
