I would like to ask fellow sailors: are there any cases in which, in the production of accelerants, oxygen or air is used as an oxidizing agent, and catalytic oxidation has been successfully applied on an industrial scale? According to available literature, both Akzo in the Netherlands and Monsanto in the United States hold relevant patents. I would like to find out whether industrialization of this technology has indeed been achieved; I earnestly ask those among you who have any information to help out – thank you very much! :handshake
At present, **we all use the hypochlorite oxidation method; other methods have not been industrialized in our country.
For DPG and DM, the oxygen method is generally used; for thiourea, hydrogen peroxide can be employed – these are all industrial processes. This sulfonamide can be produced using an oxygen-catalyzed method, and a pilot-scale trial application has been submitted.
NS, CBS, and DM have developed oxygen oxidation processes, which have passed pilot-scale testing and are now in the process of industrial implementation.
