I would like to ask how to address the high temperature of the intermediate pressure gas, and what is the purpose of the water that separates from the intermediate pressure gas?
Hehe, we’re also struggling with this issue right now – the steam generator is too small, hehe! It is recommended to add a heat exchanger or similar device before entering the transformer to reduce the temperature; I suggest using it for heat exchange with the feed gas, in order to cut down on the fuel consumption of the furnaces used in the desulfurization process. After the treated water meets the required standards through stripping and deoxygenation, it can be used as boiler water.

There is a steam generator at the medium-pressure inlet, which is regulated by stop valves; yet the temperature cannot be reduced. The water, after passing through acidic water stripping, is recovered and can be sent to the demineralized water station, or it can be used directly as demineralized water for emergency use in cases where there is a shortage of such water in the system
High-temperature treatment for medium-pressure shift: 1. Reduce the production load, 2. Slightly lower the temperature at the outlet of the conversion furnace, 3. Analyze the composition of the feedstock; a high content of olefins can also lead to an excessive increase in the temperature of the medium-pressure shift bed. 4. The intermediate transformation inlet temperature is adjusted using a plug valve, and the water from the water separation tank is fed into the circulating water system. The water in the water separation tank causes severe corrosion to the equipment. It can generally be used as emergency standby demineralized water.
The high inlet temperature at medium pressure is likely due to the powder affecting the heat exchange efficiency of the generator.
An increase in temperature inside the converter is usually caused by substandard boiler feed water, which leads to scaling in the converter’s steam generator; additionally, an unreasonable design of the heat exchanger may also be a factor. There is ample headroom in terms of the area of waste boilers in domestic designs; therefore, to improve the situation, it is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of boiler water quality on the one hand, and to improve the structure of the heat exchangers on the other hand. As for the use of medium-variance water, there is considerable controversy at present; in my opinion, the most reasonable approach is to install a separate water treatment system to purify it before using it as make-up water for boilers. Currently, foreign countries mostly use a dual steam system, where the medium-temperature condensed water vapor is used directly as the gas for conversion, without affecting the quality of the steam supplied for external use. As for the existing units, they can also be used for hydrogenation water injection or vacuum distillation electrodialysis water injection. It is not recommended as makeup water for circulating water; on one hand, it’s a waste, and on the other hand, it can cause localized corrosion in the circulating water pipes (as this water is acidic), with serious consequences!
