What is an ammonia accumulation zone? For the side stream extraction from a single tower of an acidic water stripping tower, as well as the ammonia extraction point and the area where ammonia accumulates, what is the optimal temperature?
The ammonia accumulation zone is the area in the gas phase of the acid water stripping tower where the ammonia concentration is high. The optimal temperature for the ammonia accumulation zone depends on the temperature at the bottom of the tower; it is also related to the concentration of ammonia in the gas phase (primarily water vapor, ammonia, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and other volatile substances). It is generally around 140–150 degrees, assuming the temperature at the bottom of the tower is around 160 degrees. The ammonia accumulation area also determines the location of side sampling, and it changes as the composition of the water entering the system changes; therefore, several spare sampling ports are usually provided for side sampling.
